My Journey into Design..

My Journey into Design..

I didn’t start as a designer.

I didn’t start as a designer.

My journey started in journalism, where I learned to ask the right questions, uncover the real story, and, most importantly, empathize with people. Then came marketing, which taught me how to think strategically, align with business goals, and drive impact. Put them together, and you get my design philosophy:

Journalism (Empathy) + Marketing (Strategic Thinking) = Thoughtful & Goal-Driven Design.

How I design?

How I design?

  1. Understand the status quo: Research before kickoff. I gather insights, ask questions, and dig into expectations, preferences, and constraints from leadership, PMs, engineers, and other teams.

  2. Define the problem: Validate pain points with qualitative and/or quantitative research, working within the available resources and timeline.

  3. Propose strategies: Brainstorm with other designers, explore possibilities, and refine solutions through feedback.

  4. Solidify solutions: Create prototypes, collaborate with stakeholders, and push forward the best option.

  5. Iterate, iterate, iterate: Monitor impact, analyze data, and continuously optimize the experience.

Flip to my B-Side…?

Beyond design, I tell stories in every form—through words (podcasting and writing), visuals (photography and journaling), and everything in between.

Since July 2021, I’ve been co-hosting — 越洋電話 Intl calls, a podcast with Mary where we dive into movies, books, art, culture, and society—basically, all the things that make us think and feel.

I also capture moments through my camera, whether it's film or digital, documenting life through a visual journal.
